My buddy Mike just bought his first kayak and wanted to get on the water today. We met up at the Wilbur Boat House and launched just as the sun was coming up. We fooled around near the launch while Mike got the hang of his new ride. After a few minutes, we where on our way fishing.
Tossing a Zara Spook I had many fish swirl the lure, but none take it. Mike had a few small hits on a Johnson Weedless Spoon, but did not land anything. After catching nothing in the bay, we decided to try the ICW.
I told Mike about a spot I have caught a few redfish before, and next thing I know I see a big splash and hear Mike screaming “Wooohooo”
The redfish measured 22 inches!
That was the only decent fish of the day, but not a bad fish for Mikes first on his Kayak!
